What is Vowel and Consonant Sounds?

In our Oral Communication subject we had discussed about and Consonant Sounds. I learned from it on how to pronounce words correctly. I want to share it to you for you know also what I have learned. And I hope that it will help you.
  1. Vowel Sounds - are those in which the organs of speech are used to form resonance through which the breath stream passes without any audible friction being produced.
  2. Consonant Sounds - are those in which the breath stream is obstructed in the way or another to produce audible friction.

Diphthongs - combination of two vowel sounds.

by, buy,, guy, lie, fly, cry, pie, try, why
house, how, cow, mouse, bow, vow
boy, toy, voice, boil, oil, foil, soil, joy, coil

- Exercises - 
  1. Put the plastic cup on the top of the pile of paper plate.
  2. The baby's bathtub was filled to the brim with bubble.
  3. The murderer did the dreadful deed with a dirty old dagger.
  4. Tom took great delight in telling how fast he typed two letters.
  5. Both authors used theme found in three Greek myths.
  6. The magicians wished he hadn't rushed to shine his shoes.
  7. Laura left the yellow pillow in the third-floor hallway.
